About the event
This is a true one-day crash course in PowerShell. We start off the beginning by talking about the various terminals and IDEs that can be used and the cmdlet structure. We then get on the command and start reading errors and learn the 3 MOST important cmdlets, get-help, get-command, get-member. Once we have covered those basics, we start typing commands and learning how to put them all together. We then move into basic scriptwriting (learning loops, iterators, and logic). Once we have covered all that we learn how to do it remotely, i.e. PowerShell remoting via WinRM and SSH. I will also demo how to set up PowerShell SSH Remoting on a Linux machine. At the end of the day, we start talking about building functions and parameters for scripts. Each topic is structured the same way. I will lecture the topic by PowerPoint, then move into a demo and finally capping it off with a live script/tool that I used in production, and answer any questions along the way, especially if my answer is “I am not sure, let us see…”.
